The Mass with Anointing is celebrated for Catholics who may be spiritually ill, and those whose health is impaired by physical chronic illness, or age. This is an opportunity to join in common prayer, and encounter Christ who is present in both the Sacrament of the Sick and Holy Eucharist. It is our faith, that while the sacrament is not a "cure" for sickness, nonetheless "healing" takes place on many levels, even in the midst of illness. Our prayer together can open reservoirs of grace, courage, strength, resilience, perseverance, renewed faith and hope. These are essential gifts needed in the face of illness and pain, and these are gifts that Christ imparts. The caregivers and family members of the sick are invited to join in this liturgy. A luncheon will follow the liturgy in the Good Shepherd Center. Please call the Parish Office at 508-278-2226, if you are local, and need transportation. We hope you are able to join us.
