Formation is the action of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives and our cooperation with it. It shapes who we are, what we do, and how we share our faith as Catholics.
Formation for discipleship, according to Pope Saint John Paul II, is a “totally integrated formation” that encompasses all that we are as human beings.
Formation is a multi-dimensional process that involves six interrelated dimensions:
Initial and ongoing formation is necessary in every dimension. In fact, “when catechesis omits one of these elements, the Christian faith does not attain full development” (General Directory for Catechesis, 87).
Saint Mary Parish provides many opportunities for families as well as individuals to participate in the ongoing process of formation. Click on the links below to explore some of the various opportunities that are available.
